PLN Prepares 4,769 SPKLU to Serve Travelers
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has expressed its readiness to maintain the reliability of electricity supply while supporting community mobilization through the strengthening of the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) infrastructure.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo said, the growth of electric vehicles or Electric Vehicles (EV) in Indonesia continues to show a positive trend.
This year's Eid al-Fitr, the number of travelers using EVs is projected to increase by almost 10,000 vehicles. Thus, the total is estimated to reach more than 23,000 EV travelers, or an increase of about 1.6 times compared to Eid al-Fitr 2025.
To anticipate this surge, PLN has provided 1,681 SPKLU units in 994 locations along the Trans Sumatra-Java-Bali main homecoming route, an increase of about 1.7 times compared to the 2025 Eid al-Fitr period.
"We ensure that all charging infrastructure is ready to support the needs of electric vehicle travelers, so that the journey can take place safely and comfortably. Not only on the main homecoming route, nationally, PLN together with partners has prepared 4,769 SPKLU units spread across 3,097 strategic points throughout Indonesia," said Darmawan, quoted Saturday, March 14.
To ensure the smooth running of electric vehicle services, PLN also prepared 15 units of SPKLU Mobile and more than 5,000 personnel on standby for 24 hours.
Travelers can also take advantage of digital service features through the PLN Mobile application, such as Trip Planner to find out the location of SPKLU along the route and AntreEV to monitor the charging queue in real time.
"For electric vehicle users who need assistance, just report through the PLN Mobile application or the SPKLU service hotline via WhatsApp number 087-77-1112-123, which can be accessed 24 hours a day," concluded Darmawan.
