Refal Hady Learns to Be the First Child in the Film "Don't Throw Away Mom"

JAKARTA - Actor Refal Hady tells about his involvement in Leo Pictures' latest film, Jangan Buang Ibu. He plays the role of Tama, the first child of Ristiana's mother, played by Nirina Zubir.

"From childhood, he became a mother's support and a role model for his younger siblings. Tama has a vulnerable side and a lot of it is not conveyed. There are many first-born siblings like that," said Refal Hady in the launch of the teaser poster in South Jakarta on Friday, March 13.

Interestingly, Refal feels very different from Tama's character because in the real world, Refal is the seventh child while he is the eldest child in the film.

"I can reflect Tama from my first brother and the people around, even though I'm the seventh child so it's a contrast. But playing this character is happy, has the experience of others that is a lesson for us," said Refal again.

The 33-year-old actor felt that the script for the film "Don't Throw Away Mom" was not something melancholy but warm with the interaction between mother and child.

"The script doesn't tell us to cry but a lot of things make us feel that the helplessness of a mother who can make it like now and I have to play the film. Because it can be said that this is the first family film that I play," explained Refal.

"Emotional stability, continued experience, responsibility, decision-making must be different from my current character. In the film, I know how difficult it is to make decisions, raise children. But besides that, because I don't have a mother either, so this film is a lot of remembering me against the struggles of the mother. The sincerity of her heart, it is very selfless, so it's like 'Duh, I miss Mama', that's it, as long as it's still there," continued Refal Hady.

In addition to Refal Hady and Nirina Zubir, the film is also played by Erika Carlina, Amanda Manopo, Saputra Kori, Basmalah Gralind, Dwi Sasono, Fadly Faisal, Saskia Chadwick, Farrell Rafisqy and many others.

The film Jangan Buang Ibu is adapted from a novel of the same name which tells the story of Ristiana (Nirina Zubir), a mother who tries to raise her three children after her husband dies.

The plan is, the film Jangan Buang Ibu will be shown in Indonesian cinemas this year.
