Support the Lebaran Homecoming, Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Section 1 Ready to Open for Free
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has functionalized the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 to support the smooth flow of Lebaran 2026 homecoming and return. The Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road, which is one of the National Strategic Projects in Aceh Province, has a total length of 74.2 kilometers (km).
Currently, the section has been operating on Section 2 to Section 6. The details are, Section 2 (Seulimeum Jantho) along 6 km, Section 3 (Jantho-Indrapuri) along 16 km, Section 4 (Indrapuri-Blang Bintang) along 14 km, Section 5 (Blang Bintang-Kuto Baro) along 8 km and Section 6 (Kuto Baro-Baitussalam) along 5 km. Thus, the length of the toll road that has been operated reaches 49 km.
The section that is opened functionally alias without tariffs is Section 1, namely from Padang Tiji IC (STA 01+725) to STA 25+680 along 23.955 km. The functional line is opened for two vehicle lanes (lanes A and B) with two traffic directions, namely Padang Tiji-Seulimeum and vice versa.
Operationally, Sections 2 to 6 (Seulimeum-Baitussalam) will continue to operate at tariff rates. Meanwhile, the functional line of Section 1 (Padang Tiji-Seulimeum) has been integrated through the Seulimeum Interchange (IC). Road users who continue their journey to Padang Tiji or vice versa are required to make transactions at the Padang Tiji Toll Gate (GT).
Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani said that Section 1 itself has been opened functionally since December 7, 2025 to help access assistance in Aceh Province as well as support the smooth running of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period.
"Until now, the existence of the functional road continues to be used to support community mobility and logistics distribution, including in handling natural disasters in the Aceh Tamiang area, so that travel access becomes faster and more efficient," said Hamdani as quoted from a written statement, Friday, March 13.
To ensure safety and comfort during the functional period, the company has prepared traffic signs, road markings, delineators, and other safety equipment.
A number of operational vehicles were also alerted, including ambulances, 10-ton cranes, towing cranes, 25-ton cranes, rescue vehicles, patrol vehicles and Highway Patrol (PJR) vehicles, including the readiness of personnel in the field.
"The opening of the functional Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 is a form of the company's commitment to supporting the smooth mobility of the community during the Lebaran period while ensuring the distribution of logistics, including disaster assistance in Aceh Tamiang, can run faster and more efficiently," he said.
With the integration of all sections that have been operational and the functional line, said Hamdani, the travel time from Sigli to Banda Aceh can be shortened from about one hour via the national road to about 30 minutes via the toll road.
"The opening of this functional lane is expected to reduce traffic density on national roads and provide real benefits for the people of Aceh in improving connectivity and supporting regional economic growth," he added.
Before being fully operated, Hutama Karya has also carried out a Preliminary Function Test (Pre-ULF) on Section 1. This was done to ensure that all technical and safety aspects meet the standards set, so that the completion process can be immediately realized.
