Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Imipas denied the issue of the Economic Perppu, saying it had never been discussed in the government.
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections (Menko Kumham Imipas) Yusril Ihza Mahendra denied the news that the government would issue a Perppu regarding economic issues.
When he came to the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, Friday, March 13, Yusril emphasized that until now the issue had never been discussed and had never been conveyed to him.
"One thing I want to say to my fellow journalists, many of them ask me about the government's plan to issue a Perppu regarding economic issues. But we have never heard of the issue being discussed and it has never been conveyed to us," said Yusril.
He said he had coordinated with the Ministry of State Secretariat. As a result, there is no government plan to issue an economic Perppu as widely reported.
"I also coordinated with the Ministry of State Secretariat, there is no plan to issue a Perppu related to economic issues as widely reported," he said.
Yusril came to the Palace to attend the cabinet agenda. He said ministers were asked to attend starting at 15.00 WIB. Before the cabinet meeting began, there would be an agenda for paying zakat in front of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas). The cabinet meeting itself is scheduled to take place at 16.00 WIB.
"Yes, at 3 we were asked to come to the Palace. For those who will pay zakat, he said, in front of Baznas, and it has been provided around 3 to 4 o'clock. And at 4 o'clock there will be a cabinet meeting, but I don't know what the agenda is," he said.
According to Yusril, the meeting is said to contain a briefing by the President on the actual issues that are currently happening. However, he admitted that he did not know the details of the agenda to be discussed.
Also, when asked about the alleged spraying of hard water on human rights activist Adri Yunus, Yusril admitted that he did not know the information. He said he would first coordinate.
