Sunway Medical Centre Penang Holds Together Fasting and Orphan Support with Laznas Darunnajah

JAKARTA - In the spirit of sharing in the holy month of Ramadan, Sunway Medical Centre Penang together with Laznas Darunnajah held an International Seminar and Fasting Opening Together and Orphan Children Allowance which was held at the Al Ghazali Hall, Darunnajah University, on Saturday, March 7.

This activity is part of a joint commitment to increase public awareness of the importance of maintaining health while strengthening social concern in the month of Ramadan. The event was attended by academicians of Darunnajah University, students, the general public, and orphans who received assistance.

Under the theme "Healthy is Worship, Early Detection of Intestinal Diseases for a Better Quality of Life", this activity presents a health talk session delivered by dr. Saidah Sahid, General and Colorectal Surgery Specialist from Sunway Medical Centre Penang. In his presentation, dr. Saidah emphasized the importance of early detection of various diseases in the digestive system, especially intestinal diseases, which are often not realized until they reach the advanced stage.

"Public awareness to undergo regular health checks still needs to be improved. Through activities like this, we hope that people can understand the importance of early detection so that diseases can be treated faster and quality of life is maintained," said dr. Saidah Sahid, in his statement, Thursday, March 12.

This event was also opened with a speech from Dr. Much Hasan Darojat, Rector of Darunnajah University, as well as a sermon by Imam Khairul Anas, Lc., M.A., who reminded the importance of maintaining health as part of worship and a trust that must be maintained.

In addition to health seminars, this activity was also filled with the provision of educational benefits at Darunnajah and to orphans as a form of social concern and the spirit of sharing in the month of Ramadan. The participants then continued the series of events with a joint fast-breaking, creating a sense of togetherness and brotherhood between the invited guests, students, and the community.

Muhammad Nasir Mohd Zakaria, Manager of International Sunway Medical Centre Penang, said that this activity is part of the hospital's commitment to expanding health education to the Indonesian people while strengthening relations with various educational institutions and communities.

"Through health education activities like this, we hope that the public can better understand the importance of early detection and disease prevention. Sunway Medical Centre Penang is also committed to continuing to collaborate with various parties in Indonesia in improving access and health literacy for the community," said Muhammad Nasir Mohd Zakaria.
