No Permit, 27 Illegal Padel Courts Sealed by Jaktim City Government

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government finally sealed an unlicensed padel court located at Jalan Kolonel Sutomo 1, Number 22, RT 6/RW 6, Kebon Pala Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Thursday, March 12, 2026.

The sealing was also accompanied by officers from the DKI Jakarta Department of Construction, Spatial Planning, and Land (Citata).

The Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, said that his party together with the Citata Office had sealed a total of eight padel courts in East Jakarta.

"Of course we hope that all residents of East Jakarta who carry out construction activities, especially the construction of padel courts, to obey the existing regulations, namely the permits and permits that have been issued must also be in accordance with them," he told reporters.

According to Munjirin, the padel court had a construction permit in 2018 as Indekos. Apparently, continued the Mayor, in 2025 yesterday the building actually became a padel court and violated the licensing function.

"This means that there is a wrong function of the permit, which is misused to build a padel court," he said.

Munjirin said that his party had data that there were 57 padel fields that had stood in East Jakarta. A total of 27 of them were not licensed.

Munjirin emphasized that his party would continue to monitor and move to carry out joint supervision with the DKI Jakarta City Administration.

"Yes, later technically it may be the SOP that explains later from Citata (uncovered or not)," he said.

In addition, Munjirin asked the village and sub-district to supervise the field so that there was no activity.

"I also ask the villages and sub-districts to provide information and coordinate with the East Jakarta Creative Industry Service," he said.
