JAKARTA - The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced a new breakthrough at the 2026 season. Indonesia was appointed as the host of the FIA Rallycross World Cup which is scheduled to take place on December 5-6, 2026 in Jakarta.

This event is an important milestone for the development of rallycross sports as well as marking the first expansion to the Southeast Asian region.

This announcement brings one of the most intense racing formats in motorsport to a new region. It is also in line with the FIA's ambition to grow rallycross by reaching new audiences and bringing world-class events to emerging markets.

In various FIA championships, the World Cup event has proven to be able to present independent competition that is interesting and accessible to a global audience.

The FIA Rallycross World Cup will provide a unique opportunity for fans to witness this discipline on the world stage in 2026, by bringing together the best drivers from various regions of the world.

"Although rallycross has a strong historical base in Europe, the debut of this competition in Indonesia opens up wider participation opportunities while strengthening the global footprint of this sport," said FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, in an official statement on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

The top-class drivers will compete using Euro RX1 vehicles with internal combustion engines, with a classic rallycross competition format designed to provide an exciting racing experience for spectators on the circuit and a global audience through international broadcasts.

The FIA Rallycross World Cup is planned to take place at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit in the Ancol area, North Jakarta. The circuit will be transformed into a rallycross track with a mixed-surface configuration that presents spectacular challenges for drivers and close-range racing action.

The 2026 FIA Rallycross World Cup will put fan engagement at the forefront, with efforts to make the event accessible and appealing to audiences around the world.

In addition to presenting a spectacular live experience in Indonesia, fans can also watch all the racing action live and free of charge through the official FIA Rallycross channel on YouTube.
