The proposal for 630 thousand PPPK Madrasah Teachers has not been approved by the Government

JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini responded to the proposal of the Ministry of Religion which asked for the opening of 630,375 government employee formations with work agreements (PPPK) for state and private madrasah teachers.

Rini stated that until now the proposal had not been approved because it was still in the discussion stage and had not officially entered his ministry. Rini made the statement to reporters after attending a working meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR at the Parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, March 12.

"It hasn't entered my place, so I don't know if there are 600,000. It means I don't know, but I just found out about the proposal here," said Rini.

According to Rini, the government is still considering the proposal because most of the formations submitted by the Ministry of Religion also include private madrasah teachers. Meanwhile, until now, the PPPK formation opened by the government is generally intended for government employees or state educational institutions.

"I just got informed that it was in a private school. If it's for a private school, it means that the Ministry of Education and Culture is the form for government agencies," he explained.

This is one of the reasons why the proposal has not been directly approved by the government. Rini emphasized that during President Joko Widodo's administration, the government had actually given a large portion of the formation to the Ministry of Religion in the recruitment of state civil servants (ASN).

At that time, the government opened around 2.3 million CPNS and PPPK formations. Of these, 110,553 formations were allocated to the Ministry of Religion. "It is the largest among all ministries and agencies. PPPK formations at that time were prioritized for teachers and health workers," said Rini.

He explained that during that period the government tried to accommodate proposals from various ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Religion. "So at that time the Ministry of Religion proposed how much, we gave it because it was the institution that proposed the form," he said.

However, Rini emphasized that until now the government has not been able to determine whether the proposal for 630,000 PPPK formations for madrasah teachers will be approved or not. According to him, the discussion is still ongoing and needs to consider various aspects, including state budget policies.

"So until today, of course, we can't provide information whether we will open PPPK or not," said Rini.

He added that in general, the PPPK formation is prioritized for the needs of state schools or government agencies. In this regard, the government must still study the proposal from the Ministry of Religion in depth before making a final decision regarding the opening of the PPPK formation for madrasah teachers.
