Iran: Attack on US Base in Neighboring Country Unacceptable
JAKARTA - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that any attack launched from US military bases in neighboring countries would not be acceptable under any circumstances.
Pezeshkian said this during a telephonic conversation with Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Wednesday (11/3), according to Iranian government media.
The Islamic Republic of Iran broadcast reported that the two leaders had a telephone conversation discussing regional developments amid the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran and the potential international impact of the military operation.
Pezeshkian said Iran valued its relations with neighboring countries. However, he warned of attacks originating from US bases located in the region.
"Any attack, which is launched from US military bases in the region of the region, is unacceptable under any circumstances," he said, quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Thursday, March 12.
Referring to the previous attack in the southern Iranian city of Minab, Pezeshkian said at the beginning of this brutal war there had been an attack on a school in Minab that killed 168 students.
Pezeshkian also commented on reports regarding the incident at the Port of Salalah. According to him, the actions taken by the Iranian military only targeted locations directly involved in the attack on his country.
"A thorough investigation will definitely be carried out regarding this incident," he said.
The United States and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, killing more than 1,300 people, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and more than 150 schoolgirls.
Tehran then retaliated with a barrage of missiles targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, as well as several Gulf countries that host American military assets.
