GAC Indonesia Ready to Launch 2 New 7-Seater MPVs and 2 SUVs, Here's the Leak

JAKARTA - GAC Indonesia is preparing a product expansion step in the national automotive market throughout this year. The Chinese manufacturer plans to present a number of new models that include the MPV segment to SUVs, with various engine technology options.

GAC Indonesia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andry Ciu, revealed that the company will soon introduce several new vehicles for Indonesian consumers. The models prepared will also include various configurations and technologies to be able to reach a wider market needs.

"Soon we will continue to bring new items this year. MPV will have two, one large one medium, 7 seater will finally be present at GAC," said Andry in Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11.

According to Andry, the two MPV models that will be launched later will both carry a seven-passenger configuration. However, both will be placed in different segments, namely the middle and premium classes with larger dimensions.

"The MPV will have two, and both are 7-seater, one medium, one large premium," he said.

Not only MPVs, GAC Indonesia also prepares two new SUV models to complement its product portfolio in the country. Thus, a total of four models are planned to be present in the near future. These vehicles will be offered with various choices of technology, ranging from conventional engines to electrification systems.

"There are also SUVs, ICE, we will bring complete technology. ICE, PHEV, EREV and EV. We present it in full to meet the needs in Indonesia," he said.

Even so, Andry emphasized that the final decision to bring these models to Indonesia still depends on the price factor to remain competitive in the market. If the price offered does not match the market conditions, the launch may be canceled.

"Hopefully everything will go smoothly, because in the end if the price is not competitive, maybe I will cancel the entry (of the product into Indonesia). But if the price is competitive, bring it all in," he said.

He also hopes that the plan to launch new models can be realized in the near future. In fact, GAC Indonesia targets at least some of these models to have been launched before the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 is held.

"Hopefully before GIIAS 2026," said Andry.
