Janice Tjen to Appear at Miami Open 2026 Next Week
JAKARTA - Indonesia's mainstay tennis player, Janice Tjen, is confirmed to appear at the 2026 Miami Open which takes place next week. The name of the Jakarta-born tennis player is included in the list announced by the WTA.
The Miami Open, which is a WTA 1000 level, is scheduled to take place on March 17-29, 2026 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, United States. Janice is one of the 44 names of tennis players who have been confirmed to participate in the tournament.
Referring to the official WTA website, the draw for the tournament has not yet been carried out by the organizers. However, there are a number of big names in the WTA rankings who are sure to compete to win the millions of dollars in prizes provided.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka is among those who will take part. The Belarusian athlete is number one on the list of athletes, followed by Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Amanda Anisimova.
The Miami Open adds to the long list of tournaments that Janice has entered in this year's calendar. She will appear there as a debutant after an uninspiring start to the season, both in the women's singles and doubles sectors.
Overall this is the ninth tournament that Janice has participated in in the first semester of 2026. He previously played in the ASB Classic, Hobart International, Australian Open Grand Slam, Abu Dhabi Open, Qatar Open, Dubai Championship, Merida Open, and Indian Wells.
In these tournaments, the 23-year-old tennis player has also played seven times in the women's doubles. The only tournament he did not play in the women's doubles was the Qatar Open.
His best journey in the women's singles in this year's calendar was reaching the third round at the Dubai Championship. As for the women's doubles, he managed to bring home the Hobart International title with Katarzyna Piter from Poland.
The Miami Open is the fifth WTA 1000 that Janice has participated in so far. He previously recorded participating in the level tournament at the China Open (which was his debut at the WTA 1000), Indian Wells, Qatar Open, and Dubai Championship.
