The note regarding the victim was announced along with the actions taken by the UAE air defense during the war raging in the Middle East.

According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, its air defense has intercepted 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,514 drones since the 13-day US-Israeli attack on Iran.

The massive US-Israeli attack on Iran began on February 28, 2026. In the midst of the onslaught on Iran, Israel also carried out a military operation in Lebanon.

The geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have caused many civilian casualties and disrupted the world's energy supply as tankers are held up in the Strait of Hormuz, which is one-fifth of global oil supplies.
