The Minister of Defense asks the public not to worry about the TNI Alert Status 1

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin appealed to the public not to be afraid of the one-alert status that was previously issued by the TNI.

The reason is that the standby status is actually a form of the TNI's effort to keep the community safe in the midst of conflict.

"So people don't need to worry. In fact, what people need is safe and comfortable," said Sjafrie, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 12.

According to Sjafrie, the TNI has from the beginning undertaken the task of strengthening the country's defense from the turmoil of global conflicts or within the country.

The escalation of defense, continued Sjafrie, must be adjusted to the situation and conditions that occurred at that time.

Therefore, Sjafrie emphasized that the decision to set the one-alert was taken by the TNI based on considerations from the geostrategic side.

"So the readiness (standby one) that we have done has no geopolitical influence. It has no influence on geoeconomics," explained Sjafrie.

With the one-alert status, Sjafrie believes that the government will be more optimal in maintaining the country's defense and public security.

"So this readiness is to reassure the people of the republic in a safe state and of course must be comfortable in terms of clothing, food, and shelter," he explained.
