Swiss Open 2026: 9 Indonesian Representatives Advance to the Second Round
JAKARTA - A total of nine Indonesian representatives managed to secure tickets to the second round of the 2026 BWF Super 300 Swiss Open badminton event after six out of eight who competed on the second day of the tournament managed to win over their opponents.
The continuation of the first round of the event, which took place at the St. Jakobshalle, was completed on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, WIB night. The six tickets that were added to Indonesia consisted of two men's singles, one women's singles, and three mixed doubles.
Two tickets from the men's singles were won by Alwi Farhan and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Alwi continued his journey by stopping Hu Zhe An from China and Ginting sent Wang Tzu Wei (China Taipei) home.
The Indonesian men's singles also actually lowered the youth shuttlecock Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah. However, the athlete from Sampang, Madura, lost in a tight rubber game against the first seed Li Shi Feng (China).
Putri Kusuma Wardani as the only hope in the women's singles also managed to pass the first test. The player who has the status of the first seed won an easy duel against the Indian singles, Tanvi Sharma.
The three mixed doubles who secured the second round tickets were Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
The last pair qualified for the second round after sending their compatriots, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Bernadine Anindya Wardana, home in a match that lasted two games with a final score of 21-18 and 21-14.
The six representatives followed the women's doubles journey of Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.
