Hyundai Ioniq 9 Mejeng in Jakarta, When Will It Be Officially Sold in Indonesia?

JAKARTA - In the iftar event with the media, there is one interesting thing that was exhibited by PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) by presenting the Ioniq 9.

Of course, there are many speculations and questions about whether Hyundai will sell it for the Indonesian market.

Hyundai Motors Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Fransiscus Soerjopranoto revealed that this electric car has not been sold in Indonesia.

"As for the Hyundai Ioniq 9, it has not been commercialized or there is no list of sales at Hyundai through our dealers," he said, during an iftar media at the N Brand Experience Center, SCBD, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11.

According to him, Hyundai is still studying the electric car and how much public interest in the vehicle, and is used first for the company's internal operational needs.

"Why is the car there, but it is wandering on the road? Yes, we are actually evaluating whether the car will get a chance in the Indonesian market," he added.

Furthermore, he said, every product that wants to be marketed always sees the market response first before being commercialized. This also applies to corporate mobility services, one of which is through the Hyundai Subscribe program.

"Hyundai Subscribe is evaluated first with one model, then the animation is seen as okay or not. If the animation is good, we will introduce it," he explained.

In terms of specifications, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 110.3 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which allows the rear-wheel drive model to travel a maximum distance of 532 kilometers on a single charge.
