Universal Pictures Prepares Bon Jovi Biopic Film
Universal Pictures has officially secured the rights to make a biopic of the legendary New Jersey rock band Bon Jovi, after winning a fierce auction competition between major studios in Hollywood.
This ambitious move follows the trend of world music biopics that are mushrooming, following the great success of Bohemian Rhapsody and Elvis in recent years in the global market.
The rising writer, Cody Brotter, who previously worked on the project Killing Satoshi, has also been appointed to compose a script that will bring Jon Bon Jovi's journey to life.
However, until now the studio has not announced the name of the director or the cast of actors who will play the central figures such as Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres.
The project is expected to explore the heyday of the band, which was formed in 1983, which has produced timeless songs such as "Livin' on a Prayer" to "It's My Life".
So far, Universal has not provided details on whether the storyline will focus on a specific event or cover the entire long history of Bon Jovi from its inception to the death of bassist Alec John Such in 2022.
However, the presence of this biopic is expected to be able to treat the longing of classic rock music fans, in the midst of the release schedule of the Michael Jackson biopic, which is also handled internationally by Universal in April.
