Prabowo-Saudi Crown Prince Discuss Escalation in the Middle East

JAKARTA - Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto discussed military escalation in the Middle East via telephone.

Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (11/3), according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the ministry's official media account on Wednesday.

During the conversation, they are said to have discussed developments surrounding the military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional and global peace.

The Indonesian president stressed the need to immediately stop military action in the region, and warned that such actions would undermine security and stability in the region, according to the statement.

Previously on February 28, the US and Israel had launched a series of brutal attacks on a number of targets inside Iran, including in Tehran, causing various damages and many casualties among civilians.

Iranian state television confirmed the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as a result of the attack.

Iran then responded to the attack by launching missile attacks on a number of Israeli areas and US military facilities in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (10/3), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, said their air defense systems successfully intercepted attacks involving drones and ballistic missiles launched from Iran.
