Police Reveals Case Of 10 Thousand Ecstasy Pills From Germany Smuggled In Spare Parts

JAKARTA - The National Police has uncovered the case of 10,000 ecstasy pills from Germany. These drugs are smuggled in spare parts.

Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency Brigadier General Krisno Siregar said his party arrested nine people involved in smuggling ecstasy.

"The first disclosure occurred at the TKP located in Central Jakarta on May 24, 2021, the sub-directorate 4 team arrested four suspects with the initials (SR), (IY), (EM), and (MR) with 10,000 pills of ecstasy as evidence originating from Germany. smuggled through spare parts,” he said, quoted from a written statement from the National Police Public Relations Division, Thursday, June 3.

From this arrest, the police carried out developments to arrest 5 people in Jasinga, West Jakarta.

"Five people with the initials (DB), (JY), (KV), (UY), and (AW) with evidence of one plastic bag containing 2,370 purple pills and another bag containing 1,495 pills, he continued.

The modus operandi of the suspects was to smuggle ecstasy into legal shipments or cargo from abroad.

"Sent from Germany and Belgium," he continued.

The suspects were snared in Article 114 paragraph 2 Juncto Article 132 paragraph 1 Subsidiary Article 113 paragraph 2 Juncto Article 132 paragraph 1 more subsidiary Article 112 paragraph 2 Juncto Article 132 paragraph 1 Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, namely circulating class 1 narcotics.
