Former Central Java Police Officer to Face Trial in the Death of Female Lecturer

SEMARANG - Former Deputy Head of the Dalmas Ditsamapta Division of the Central Java Police, AKBP Basuki, was tried for his negligence, which resulted in a female lecturer from a college in Semarang City, Dwinanda Linchia Levi, dying.

The Public Prosecutor of the Semarang City District Attorney's Office, Ardhika Wisnu, explained that Levi's death occurred on November 17, 2025 at a hotel in the Gajah Mungkur District area, Semarang City.

The defendant, who had a special relationship with the victim, stayed at the place before dying.

The defendant, continued the prosecutor, found the victim awake in an unusual condition in the middle of the night.

"The defendant woke up and observed the victim in a state of convulsion," he said in the trial chaired by Chief Judge Achmad Rasjid, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 11.

Due to this condition, he said, the defendant did not immediately seek medical or other assistance.

According to him, the defendant who knew the victim was dead had left the scene to meet someone.

The defendant only reported the incident to the police that afternoon.

For his actions, the defendant was charged with Article 428 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning homelessness which resulted in a person's death or Article 474 concerning negligence which resulted in a person's death.

Regarding the charge, the defendant did not file an objection and admitted the act according to the public prosecutor's charge.
