Prabowo's stern warning: Don't mess with false reports, fun-loving sense of humor
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto warns his ranks not to make and provide reports of tricks or manipulated results whose purpose is only to please superiors.
In front of a number of state officials and senior officials of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI), Prabowo said he gave a stern warning against the fraudulent report.
"Don't mess with me again with false reports, fun reports, reports so that you can be fooled. I give this stern warning," said President Prabowo to his staff during the 1st Danantara Anniversary at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11, reported by ANTARA.
After giving the warning, President Prabowo continued to announce that he had received a report that the return on assets of SOEs under the auspices of Danantara in the past year had increased by more than 300 percent.
"I have received reports, I am quite happy, return on assets in one year, 2025, compared to previous years has increased by more than 300 percent. This is quite good, and this proves that the premise of establishing Danantara, it is impossible for a good management, if not in one control, in one hand, in one management," said President Prabowo.
Prabowo then highlighted the many subsidiaries, even the grandchildren of companies that are under one state-owned enterprise entity. The number, according to Prabowo, is not trivial, because there is one state-owned enterprise that manages up to 200 subsidiaries and grandchildren of companies.
The situation then, according to the President, gave rise to many irregularities, although the initial establishment of SOEs as state-owned companies had good intentions and intentions.
"BUMN was founded by the founders of our nation, it used to be called a state-owned enterprise. After a hundred years of movement, we don't have a textile industry, the state established Patal Senayan, we don't have a paper industry, we need books, children need to learn, the state established a paper mill. There was no medicine at the time of independence, the state established pharmaceutical companies," said the President.
"But slowly, this good faith has led to deviations. The state in the new state of independence established the state-owned company Pertamina. It turns out that the good faith of the founders of the nation eventually gave birth to subsidiaries, grandchildren of companies, and grandchildren of companies. I am surprised that Pertamina has 200 subsidiaries and grandchildren of companies," continued Prabowo.
Then, the President highlighted the problem of regulations that prevent the state from auditing companies under SOEs.
"It is strange that there are even more strange regulations, if BUMN (as a parent company) can be audited by the state, he said that if the company's grandchildren cannot be audited. Where is this regulation from?" said the President revealing his surprise.
The President believes that the consolidation of state-owned companies into one Danantara entity is the right strategy to manage state wealth more optimally and prevent state wealth leakage.
"Our premise turns out to be true, the consolidation of one management with rationality with the world's best standards," said President Prabowo.
