Danantara's First Anniversary, Prabowo Praises Danantara, Says Proof that Indonesia Can Manage World-Class Assets
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Danantara must be managed professionally because the institution is positioned as a strategic instrument to strengthen the national economy. The message was conveyed when attending the 1st Danantara Indonesia Anniversary at Danantara House, Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
In his remarks, Prabowo expressed his gratitude that Indonesia now has an institution that can be compared with the world's sovereign wealth funds. He even said that Danantara's position had the opportunity to enter the largest ranks at the global level.
"We are grateful, we now have a body that can be compared with sovereign wealth funds in the world. We are grateful that Indonesia now has a sovereign wealth fund, perhaps the 6th, 7th largest in the world," said Prabowo.
According to Prabowo, Danantara's achievements in the past year show initial results that cannot be ignored. He assessed that progress was born from good management, neat management, and a strong political will to build a credible institution.
"We are also grateful that this year's management has proven that with good management, with good management, especially with the right will, with political will, with the right soul, the results are already visible," he said.
On the same occasion, the Minister of Investment and Industrialization and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani said Danantara's presence gave Indonesia new strength. According to him, the institution made Indonesia able to appear more active in the midst of global geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions.
"We can prove that we have strength. We can prove that we are a great country," said Rosan.
Rosan added that Danantara was also directed to become one of the engines of national economic growth. However, the target, said Rosan, does not stop at the 8 percent growth figure, but must also be accompanied by equalization so that the results are felt by all layers of society.
