Realization of the MBG Program Budget Reaches Rp. 44 Trillion
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara reported that the realization of budget absorption for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program had reached Rp. 44 trillion as of March 9, 2026, and had reached approximately 61.62 million beneficiaries.
The realization of the absorption of the MBG program budget is equivalent to 13.1 percent of the 2026 state budget target of Rp. 335 trillion.
"The realization of the absorption of the budget (MBG program) of Rp. 44 trillion is for the March 9 figure," he said, in the APBN Kita press conference, Wednesday, March 11.
According to him, the implementation of the MBG program is supported by around 25,000 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) which are spread across various regions of Indonesia.
He added that this program reaches beneficiaries in a number of regions, ranging from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku-Papua, and Bali-Nusa Tenggara.
Suahasil explained that the majority of beneficiaries were students and by the end of February, around 50 million beneficiaries were from students, and around 10.5 million other beneficiaries were from non-student groups, such as pregnant women, nursing mothers, and the elderly.
He emphasized that the government would ensure that the MBG program was carried out with good governance and efficient use of the budget, and also ensure the availability of funds to support the sustainability of the program.
"Of course, we will continue to ensure that it is carried out with good governance, carried out efficiently and the budget is available for this free nutritious meal," he said.
