Lumina Debuts as an Indonesian Girl Group with K-Pop Quality

JAKARTA - The Indonesian music stage is back with new ammunition. This time, a girl group called Lumina officially marked their debut in the music industry with the first single titled "안녕. Bintang" (Hello, Star).

on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Their presence seems to confirm that the Indonesian Pop (I-Pop) trend is increasingly showing its fangs on the global stage.

Lumina is not just an ordinary vocal group. They are an I-Pop girl group that is the result of a cross-cultural collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea under the HOUSE ENM banner.

Taking advantage of the momentum when groups such as no na by 88rising began to be known to the world, Lumina comes with a formula that combines the spirit of local Indonesia with the polishing of the quality of prestigious K-Pop production standards.

Formed through a global project titled K-Pop ON-I, the five Lumina members have gone through an intensive four-week training period. This process includes vocal training, choreography, to recording sessions and professional music video production under the direct direction of a team of experts from the Gingseng Country.

The name Lumina itself is taken from the combination of the words "Luminous" and "Ina" (Indonesia). The philosophy describes five different lights that come together to illuminate the country's music sky.

Interestingly, this group carries the concept of Magical High-teen, a unique blend of lyrical melodies typical of J-Pop, modern K-Pop arrangements, and dreamy touches from the Dream Pop genre.

"Talented young talents must be trained from an early age with the right direction, not just left to walk on their own. Lumina is proof that with serious coaching, the dreams of young children can grow into a light that shines on the global stage," said Young Boss as producer of HOUSE ENM in his statement, Wednesday, March 11.

Lumina is led by five young talents with ages ranging from 10 to 15 years. They are Marsila Akwila (Wila) from Bogor as the main dancer, Fara Alfiratasya (Fara) from Bekasi as the lead vocal, Kiandra Arundati (Kiandra) from Jakarta as the main vocal, Kadek Isyana (Isyana) from Pontianak as the lead dancer, and Jennifer Natasha (Jennifer) from Jakarta as the sub-vocal.

Fara's presence as the only member wearing a hijab is a highlight in itself. He proved that identity and diversity are not obstacles in working in the modern music industry.

"I want to prove that wearing a hijab is not an obstacle to dreaming and working in music. I'm grateful that my family and friends support me, and I want to show that diversity is beautiful," said Fara.

Meanwhile, Wila as the oldest member feels a great responsibility to keep this group solid.

"I feel like we're all like brothers. There are a lot of new things to learn, and I want to be a good example for my younger brothers and sisters at LUMINA. We grew up together," said Wila.

The lyrics of the song "Hello, Star" itself use three languages at once, namely Korean, Indonesian, and English. This strategy is deliberately carried out to embrace a wider audience market and transcend language barriers.

The music video can also be enjoyed through Lumina's official YouTube channel, where the visual is shown full of teenage energy.

For fans - called Starlets - Lumina's presence is expected to be a new chapter in the growth of a more professional I-Pop.

With a diverse ethnic background and member domiciles, Lumina is a representation of Indonesia's cultural wealth that is ready to compete on the international entertainment stage.
