President Prabowo Accelerates Energy Self-sufficiency, Surya 100 Gigawatt Project is Driven by

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has asked for an acceleration of energy self-sufficiency in the midst of a world he calls full of uncertainty. One of the steps requested is the construction of renewable energy electricity from solar energy of 100 gigawatt in the shortest possible time.

When present at the one-year Danantara tasyakuran at the Danantara building, Wednesday, March 11, Prabowo in his speech said that the global crisis should actually be read as an impetus to accelerate national agendas. According to him, Indonesia has enough resources to face world pressure.

"Crisis is a test, crisis is a stepping stone. The strong will survive, the weak will continue to suffer," said Prabowo.

He said the government already had a plan for food self-sufficiency and some of the results had begun to be achieved. For energy self-sufficiency, Prabowo said the target was believed to be achievable in four years, but the current global situation forced acceleration.

Prabowo said Indonesia has many energy sources, ranging from palm oil, cassava, corn, sugar cane, to geothermal energy. He emphasized that Indonesia's geothermal reserves are very large, even called the largest in the world.

Therefore, he decided to accelerate the electrification of renewable energy from solar power.

"We will implement the electrification of renewable energy from solar power in the shortest possible time. We will build 100 gigawatt, that is my order, that is my decision," said Prabowo.

The President also said Indonesia must prove to the world that the steps can be carried out faster and more effectively. In the same speech, Prabowo reminded Danantara of the great responsibility of managing the nation's wealth for the future.

At the end of his speech, Prabowo asked for strict supervision of Danantara. He said that supervision must involve the supervisory board, BPK, BPKP, the prosecutor's office, the police, the TNI, to special envoys in each state-owned enterprise managed.

"We have to watch because this is the blood of the Indonesian nation. If this blood continues to leak, our nation is in a difficult state," said Prabowo.
