President Prabowo Targets Danantara to Return Rp800 Trillion to the State
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has set a big target for Danantara. In the coming years, the state asset management agency is required to at least be able to return 5 percent of the country, equivalent to 50 billion US dollars or around Rp. 800 trillion per year.
The target was conveyed by President Prabowo in his speech when attending the one-year Danantara tasyakuran at the Danantara building, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 11. He admitted that he was quite happy after receiving a report that the return on assets in 2025 had increased by more than 300 percent compared to previous years. However, for Prabowo, this achievement is only the first step.
"Brothers must be able to give a return of 5 percent at least back to the country, a minimum of 50 billion dollars," said Prabowo.
According to him, the results of the first year strengthened the reason for the formation of Danantara. State assets are unlikely to be managed well if the control is scattered. Prabowo admitted that he originally thought that the entities that had to be corrected were around 250 companies. Later, he actually got the fact that the number was more than 1,000.
The President then highlighted the old problem in the BUMN body. Prabowo said that many state-owned companies had developed into companies' children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He gave an example of Pertamina, which, according to the report he received, had about 200 children and great-grandchildren of companies.
What makes him wonder, there is a rule that is called making the company's grandchildren cannot be audited by the state.
"If BUMN can be audited by the state, he said that if the company's grandchildren are audited. Where is this regulation from?" he said.
In his speech, President Prabowo also congratulated Danantara for its first year of work. But he reminded that the agency's target was still far away. He also gave a stern warning that there would be no more false reports or reports that were made just to please superiors.
"Don't mess with me anymore, false reports, fun reports so you can be fooled," said Prabowo.
