Park Jin Young Resigns from JYP Entertainment Board of Directors

JAKARTA - Singer Park Jin Young will step down from his position as Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at JYP Entertainment on Tuesday, March 10. He is not seeking a new director position in the shareholders meeting which is planned to be held on March 26.

Launching JoongAng Daily, this decision to resign was due to Park Jin Young wanting to focus on his career as an artist.

"(Park Jin Young) focuses on creative work as an artist, mentor and takes on roles related to the K-pop industry," JYP Entertainment said.

Park Jin Young himself is still the largest shareholder in JYP, reaching 15.82% as of today. He founded the company in 1997.

This announcement also circulated after he was appointed as a member of the Pop Culture Exchange Committee, a committee initiated in the era of President Lee Jae Myung in October 2025. This committee was established with the aim of seeing the promotion of Korean content including K-pop which has become global.

In addition to the founder, Park Jin Young is also a producer who orbits several songs for various groups such as god, Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, TWICE, and Stray Kids.

This year, the young singer duo dodree debuted as the latest duo from JYP. Even so, he is not always involved in making his artist's songs.

In terms of music, Park Jin Young is active with J.Y.Park and consistently releases songs and holds concerts. He also just celebrated his 30th anniversary debut with a concert.
