KCI Ready to Transport 50 Million Users for Pedestrians in the City

JAKARTA - KAI Commuter ensures its readiness in its entirety in facing the 2026 Lebaran Transportation (Angleb) period in the Jabodetabek and surrounding areas.

VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda said, KAI Commuter imposed a post-transportation period for the Eid al-Fitr from March 13-30, 2025 or for 18 days.

"In terms of capacity, we will operate for the Jabodetabek commuter line as many as 1,065 train trips per day. This is an increase of 2 trains compared to the Eid transportation in 2025, where in 2025 we run 1,063 trains," he told the media when met at Juanda Station, Wednesday, March 11.

In total, he said, KAI Commuter operates as many as 1,149 trips every day in the Jabodetabek area, Merak and its surroundings, including trips to close Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"KAI Commuter provides a carrying capacity of 50,244,436 people or more than 4 percent of last year's carrying capacity," explained Karina.

In addition to Jabodetabek, KAI Commuter also optimizes the Commuter Line Basoetta and Commuter Line Merak services. Every day, there are 70 Commuter Line Basoetta trips with a total carrying capacity of 415,616 and projected 145,963 people moving to the airport for homecoming.

To ensure comfort, KAI Commuter has deployed 5,400 frontline officers, ranging from Masinis, Security Officers, to Health Officers. KAI Commuter also added supporting facilities such as portable toilets at Bogor Station and Pasar Minggu Station, as well as waiting tents at Bekasi Station, Bogor, Tangerang, Rangkasbitung, and Cilegon.

Meanwhile, for the Merak Commuter Line which is integrated with Jabodetabek, we operate 14 trips per day and provide a carrying capacity of 412,352 with the volume of users in this cross is predicted to reach 299,259 people, or an increase of 1 percent from last year.

For information, starting March 13-20, 2026, KAI Commuter will adjust the service where the Merak Commuter Line journey only goes to Cilegon Station. Users who will go to Merak Station will be transferred using the next transport at Cilegon Station.

This service adjustment was also carried out in previous years to arrange vehicle traffic that will cross through the Merak and Bakauheni Ferry Port, especially during the peak traffic conditions of the 2026/1447 H Eid Transport.

Currently, Commuter Line stations have been integrated with various modes such as MRT, LRT Jabodebek, TransJakarta Bus, to online transportation. Users can also use the Multi Trip Card (KMT) for payment transactions in all modes.
