ChatGPT Launches Interactive Visualization to Support Mathematics and Science Learning

JAKARTA - OpenAI has added a new feature to ChatGPT that supports learning mathematics and science. With this feature, users can easily understand formulas, elements, and variables.

This new feature will turn static diagrams into interactive modules. For example, when users learn the Pythagorean theorem, they can slide the length of the sides of a triangle and see the value of the hypotenuse change instantly.

This visual explanation feature already covers more than 70 popular science and math topics. Some of them include Ohm's law, kinetic energy, to compound interest calculations that are often considered difficult.

To try this feature, users only need to give a simple question such as how to find the area of a circle. ChatGPT will respond with an explanation text as well as a visual module that can adjust the numbers.

The presence of this feature marks a shift in the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), from merely providing answers to being a tool to help understand concepts. This feature is expected to help more than 140 million weekly users of ChatGPT who are looking for learning assistance.

OpenAI also added other features such as a learning mode that can guide users to complete the problem step by step. In addition, there is a QuizGPT that allows users to create flash cards to test understanding before the exam.

Several features that support student learning have already been adopted first by Gemini. Google, the developer of the chatbot, has launched a similar interactive diagram last year.

With the presence of these new features in ChatGPT, OpenAI can compete more with Gemini. The company also promises to add more interactive topics so that users can reach more scientific fields.
