Denim Modest Wear, Stylish Choice for Ramadan and Eid

JAKARTA - Muslim fashion made of denim can be a style choice when celebrating Eid. This material, which is synonymous with a casual impression, is now processed into modest wear clothing that is still elegant, comfortable, and easy to combine for various occasions.

The strong yet flexible character of denim fabric makes it suitable for use in modern Muslim fashion designs, including for a stylish look during Ramadan to Eid.

This trend is also seen in the collection of modest wear that uses denim as the main material. Denim fabric with its distinctive indigo color gives a firm and relaxed impression, making it suitable for various activities, including a joint fasting event.

Two of the 32 collections of modest wear denim by Khanza Maryam steal the attention because they combine a classy, versatile, and casual impression.

One of the designs is a long denim indigo outer with a large collar combined with a long dress with dark blue and white stripes. The combination presents a fresh look but still has character so it is suitable for various occasions.

Another collection features a denim long shirt with a firm shoulder pad inspired by the character of the blazer in the 1980s. This outfit is combined with an A-line denim skirt so that it gives a silhouette that looks like a long dress. White stitching accents on the sleeves and skirt add a strong impression to the design.

Khanza Maryam's owner, Giska Praditya, said the two denim collections are part of the brand's annual collection which presents a choice of clothing from casual to formal styles.

"These two denims are part of the Annual Show or annual collection of Khanza Maryam. From daily wear to formal looks for the Raya Collection. This collection comes from the needs of women to look beautiful, elegant, and have character during Ramadan and Eid," said Giska.

In recent years, denim has increasingly been used as the main material in the world of modest fashion. This is because the construction of denim fabric using twill weave or diagonal pattern makes it stronger but still flexible, so it is easy to be shaped into various fashion designs.

It's no wonder that the denim collection is one of the most iconic in fashion shows on the second day of the 2026 Ramadan Rhapsody event held at Pakuwon City Mall Bekasi.

Apart from denim, the Bekasi-based designer also featured various Muslim clothing made from organza with typical Turkish motifs. The design was inspired by the luxury of royal clothing with jacquard details on the chest and Swarovski crystal decorations. Floral motifs also remain a signature element in the featured Muslim clothing collection.

"Khanza Maryam is a Muslim fashion brand from Bekasi. In the production process, we also empower workers from the Bekasi area so that they can absorb labor from the nearest environment," said Giska.

The Ramadan Rhapsody 2026 event also presents eight fashion looks from the Shafira brand featuring iconic lace, floral-motif long dress, to satin-based blouses.

In the middle of the runway, visitors were also treated to a special performance from Ihsan Tarore who performed a song with his distinctive voice, creating an increasingly warm atmosphere during the event.

The Ramadan Rhapsody 2026 event is a collaboration between the Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs Association (APPMI), Rhapsody, and Pakuwon Mall City Bekasi which will take place on March 4-29, 2026 with the theme "Sanctuary of Ramadan".

The chairman of Fashion Rhapsody, Ariy Arka, said the theme depicts Ramadan as a moment of reflection and self-renewal.

"The Sanctuary of Ramadan can be interpreted as a sacred space where faith, art, and togetherness blend together," said Ariy Arka.
