WhatsApp Tests Message Channel Count Feature in Channels

JAKARTA - WhatsApp is seen testing a new feature that shows how many times a user's channel upload is forwarded. Initially, this feature was only available for admins, but now users can also see it.

This feature was first discovered by WABetaInfo in the WhatsApp beta update for Android devices version 2.26.10.3. This metric was previously designed specifically for channel admins, but now the data can be viewed by all followers and visitors.

This feature provides a more transparent overview of the popularity of information shared within the channel. Users can measure how widely a news or update is spread to other chat rooms.

For admins, these statistics can be used as an important analysis tool to understand the type of content that the audience likes the most. They can optimize communication strategies based on the visible distribution data.

Meanwhile, channel followers can identify trending content faster. The number of message reposts helps users prioritize information that is considered important by the community at large.

Currently, the feature to count the number of channels is only available for users who are registered in the WhatsApp beta version. WhatsApp plans to launch it gradually to more users in the coming weeks.

This feature can also show how big the interaction of readers or channel visitors. This feature will play a big role in channels that are developed to share news or information about an activity.
