Pig Carrier Killed By KKB Shot, TNI-Polri Personnel Also Struck By Bullets
JAKARTA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is back at it again. They shot a civilian to death and strafed the joint TNI-Polri apparatus.
Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said the shooting occurred when the victim, Abel Halenti and his colleague M. Alif, were transporting pigs.
"The victim and her partner were intercepted by two members of the KKB. The victim was about to go home after transporting pigs in Eronggobak Village, Omukia District, Puncak Regency," said Kamal to VOI, Thursday, June 3.
When bringing the pigs to the shower complex, Kibogolome Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, they were confronted by two members of the KKB. The witness and the victim were held at gunpoint with long and short-barreled weapons.
"The victim shouted 'Sorry Commander' but was immediately shot by one of the KKB who pointed the gun one time," said Kamal.
The victim who was shot fell to the ground. While his partner immediately ran to the car and fled.
The victim's colleague then reported the incident to the police. Thus, the joint TNI-Polri team immediately went to the scene to evacuate the victims.
"When members of the TNI-Polri arrived at the location, they were immediately fired upon by the KKB, who had been waiting for the arrival of members and had been harassed three times," said Kamal.
In fact, there was a shootout for about 15 minutes. Until finally the victim was successfully evacuated by joint personnel to the ilaga health center.
"The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of the neck that penetrated into the mouth, and was hit by a reset on the left shoulder, causing the victim to die," said Kamal.
