Apple Produces a Quarter of iPhones in India, Totaling 25 Percent
JAKARTA - Apple has managed to increase the number of its device production in India. The company has produced 25 percent of all iPhone units spread across the country.
This increase in production is part of Apple's long-term plan to diversify its global supply chain. Over the past year, India accounted for about 55 million units out of a total global production of 230 million iPhones.
This production includes all variants of the iPhone 17. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that most of the devices in the US are made in India, as reported by TechCrunch.
This shows Apple's commitment to deepening its manufacturing investment in the country. In addition, the uncertainty of tariff rules in China is also a major factor that has accelerated production in India.
In addition to being a production center, India is also developing into a very important consumer market for Apple. Total revenue from iPhone sales in the country has exceeded 9 billion US dollars last year.
Apple even plans to launch Apple Pay in India in the near future. The company also just inaugurated its sixth physical retail store to strengthen its presence.
Data from analyst firms shows that iPhone unit shipments in the Indian market continue to experience steady growth. This finding reinforces India's position as the future of Apple's business.
