Billiard Sports Branch Officially Entered the Campus League
JAKARTA - The billiard sports branch (cabor) has officially entered the Campus League competition ecosystem and is confirmed to be competed in the multi-sport event titled UniGames in December this year.
This certainty emerged after a collaboration between the CEO of Campus League, Ryan Gozali, and the Chairman of the LUGU Group, Hendri Lukito. The two reached an agreement to jointly develop billiards sports among student athletes in Indonesia.
Campus League CEO, Ryan Gozali, said that the presence of billiards is part of an effort to expand the spectrum of sports competitions in the university environment while opening new achievement paths for students.
"We see that billiards has a strong community in Indonesia, but still has little structured competition systems at the campus level," said Ryan in a statement received by the media.
The cooperation of the two parties aims to present a professional student billiards competition as well as a space for student athletes to develop without leaving their education. In addition, there is a need to build a more structured, modern, and sustainable campus billiards ecosystem.
Campus League is present as a student competition platform that is systematically and long-term designed. Meanwhile, LUGU Group through its billiards business line has experience in facility management, community activation, as well as commercial and operational approaches in the billiards sports industry.
So far, billiards in Indonesia has developed rapidly in communities and clubs, but the integrated competition system in the university environment is still limited. So, this cooperation is expected to have a clearer competition space for students to channel their interests while developing achievements.
The entry of billiards shows that this campus sports competition is not only limited to popular sports such as futsal, basketball, or badminton, but is also open to sports with a strong community and great growth potential among the younger generation.
Hendri hopes that this collaboration will make them able to contribute to strengthening the national billiards ecosystem while creating new competition spaces for students in Indonesia.
"This initiative is also expected to be part of efforts to expand the path of training national billiard athletes through the university environment so that the potential of young athletes can be identified and developed earlier," he said.
This collaboration has the potential to make campus billiards more organized, documented, and have a strong brand value. In the end, the presence of billiards in campus sports competitions will open a clearer path for student athletes to develop themselves competitively and professionally.
Campus League started the zero season at the end of last year by competing in futsal only. As for this year's calendar, the event will again hold a competition involving more sports.
