Denza B5 Still See the Market, Z9 GT is Sure to be Sold in Indonesia This Year

JAKARTA - BYD has signaled that it will expand its electric vehicle lineup in Indonesia through the Denza premium brand. One of the models being considered for introduction to the domestic market is the Denza B5, which was previously introduced to the public at an automotive exhibition in February.

President Director of BYD Motor Indonesia Eagle Zhao, said his party was looking at the most appropriate momentum to officially present the model. According to him, since it was first introduced, the response from Indonesian consumers to the vehicle is quite high.

"First of all, thank you for your attention to our very specific model, Denza B5. Since its debut last February, we have really gathered a lot of interest from the consumer side," said Eagle Zhao at the BYD Ramadhan Sportainment in Jakarta, Monday, March 9.

The market's interest has made the company increasingly serious about considering launching the Denza B5 in the country. However, Zhao has not revealed when the model will actually be marketed in Indonesia.

"We are very serious about looking at the possibility of when we can launch this model in Indonesia," he said.

Apart from the Denza B5, BYD is also preparing another model from the Denza line that will enliven the national automotive market. One of them is the Denza Z9 GT which is the flagship model of the brand.

Zhao confirmed that the model will be launched in Indonesia this year. However, he emphasized that the launch will not take place in the near future.

"Z9 GT is one of the flagship models under the Denza brand. It is confirmed to be launched in Indonesia this year," he said.

He also explained that the presence of the model is likely to occur in the second half of this year. "Not the first semester, but at some point in the second semester," added Zhao.

BYD's commitment to developing the Denza brand in Indonesia is also reflected in the direct support of the company's headquarters. Zhao revealed that the headquarters even sent a special representative to interact with the media in Indonesia.

"Our headquarters are very serious in conversations with Indonesian media friends. That's why they specifically assigned PR representatives from headquarters to come here," he explained.

He also signaled that the company would soon convey the latest developments regarding product and technology plans to be brought to Indonesia.

"To be honest with you, dear media friends who are very close to us, we won't make you wait too long. We will meet again very soon," said Zhao.

This plan shows BYD's seriousness in strengthening its existence in the Indonesian electric vehicle market, as well as expanding the premium segment through the Denza brand. The presence of these models has the potential to add choices for consumers while tightening competition in the national electric car market.
