KPK Cecar Eks Menhub Budi Karya Soal Proyek DJKA di Sejumlah Wilayah yang Berujung Suap

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the implementation of projects at the Directorate General of Transportation (DJKA) from the former Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi. He is suspected of knowing about work in a number of areas on the islands of Sumatra and Java that are marked by the provision of bribes.

This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when delivering the examination material that was investigated by investigators against Budi Karya on Monday, March 9. The request for information was said to have been carried out at the BPKP Semarang City office, Central Java.

"The projects in DJKA are in a number of places, there are from Sumatra, then in West Java, Central Java, there is also the Solo-Jogja section, there is also in East Java, there is even one in Sulawesi," Budi told reporters quoted on Tuesday, March 10.

"This means that the KPK's need to examine the BKS witness to explain the implementation or plotting of work at a number of locations because the capacity in question was as a minister at that time," he continued.

Not only that, Budi Karya was also asked about the involvement of legislators of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2019-2024. Budi said that the information was important to investigate Sudewo's actions as a former member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia who had been named a suspect as well as looking for the involvement of other parties.

"Of course, it will also be cross-checked, yes, confirming how it relates to the DPR RI as a partner from the Ministry of Transportation, namely in Commission V. In this case, the investigators have also named SDW as a suspect," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to develop the bribery case for the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java. Most recently, Sudewo as a former Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2020-2024 was named a suspect.

Then, the KPK also promised to investigate the members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 who enjoyed the flow of money. One of them is Lasarus as the Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at that time and was said in the trial to enjoy a project fee of 10 percent.

He is suspected of receiving money flows with members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions who are suspected of enjoying fees. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.
