Astra Infra Projects 6.8 Million Vehicles to Cross Toll Roads Managed during Lebaran Holidays

JAKARTA - PT Astra Tol Nusantara or Astra Infra projects that as many as 6.8 million vehicles will cross the Astra Infra Group section during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period.

The traffic volume is projected to increase by 2.1 percent compared to the 2025 Eid period.

This was conveyed by Astra Tol Cipali Operations Director Novianto Dwi Wibowo in the 2026 Lebaran Astra Infra Group Media Briefing in Jakarta, Monday, March 9.

In detail, Novianto explained, on the Tangerang-Merak toll road, it is predicted that there will be 3.4 million vehicles or an increase of around 2.5 percent compared to 2025.

Then, in Cikopo-Palimanan, it is projected that there will be 2.3 million vehicles or an increase of around 1.8 percent compared to 2025.

Meanwhile, on the Jombang-Mojokerto route, it is predicted that 1.1 million vehicles will pass, up about 1.4 percent compared to last year.

"So, if in total for the three main sections we are Tangerang-Merak, Cikopo-Palimanan and Jombang-Mojokerto, then our estimate will be an increase of 6.8 million vehicles through the three main sections," said Novianto.

For this reason, Astra Infra has prepared a number of strategies to deal with the surge in traffic volume. Since last year, Astra Infra has completed the addition of a third lane on some sections of the Tangerang-Merak and Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Roads.

In addition, Astra Infra is preparing road infrastructure by carrying out road pavement maintenance which is targeted to be completed on H-10 Lebaran.

In terms of rest areas, Novianto said, Astra Infra ensures the availability of SPBU, SPKLU, mosque toilets, parking areas and F&B outlets.

"We have also deployed more than 800 officers equipped with more than 90 toll road operational vehicles consisting of patrol fleets, cranes, rescues, and ambulances," he explained.

In ensuring the safety and smoothness of driving, Astra Infra also prepared more than 500 CCTV units supported by 7 traffic counters and 24-hour communication center services.

To anticipate congestion, Novianto said, Astra Infra has also coordinated with the police in the implementation of traffic engineering, including the implementation of one way and contra flow.

If there is congestion at the rest and service (TIP), Novianto suggests that travelers stop at the next rest area.

"If such a condition occurs, you can continue to the next rest area. So, don't wait," he advised.

Furthermore, said Novianto, another option, especially for sections of the Java toll road, is to use the exit from the toll road, considering that Astra Infra uses a closed transaction system.

"If you need a facility, whether it's a gas station or a place of worship, you can go out first, then you can go back to the toll road to continue your journey without additional charges, because the transaction system is closed," he concluded.
