Prabowo: Non-Blok Attitude Brings Indonesia to the Right Track
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia is on the right track in dealing with global geopolitical dynamics because it consistently carries out free and active foreign policy and does not favor any bloc.
Prabowo said that the current world situation is filled with tensions and conflicts in various regions, such as in the Middle East. According to him, although Indonesia is geographically far from the center of the conflict, the impact can still be felt because the world is now increasingly connected.
"Our nation, our country is on the right track. We are on the non-aligned track. We have always been on the free active, non-bloc track," said Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA.
The President assessed that the global condition was a reminder of the importance of Indonesia maintaining an independent foreign policy and not being tied to the interests of certain blocs.
According to him, Indonesia still respects all countries and world powers, while maintaining good relations with various parties without having to take sides in international conflicts.
Prabowo said this attitude was also in line with the Indonesian national values which uphold diversity.
"We respect all forces, we respect all countries. That is Indonesia. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in the country, but also abroad we respect all nations, respect all religions, respect all races, respect all ethnic groups," he said.
He added that this approach is one of the factors that make Indonesia able to maintain stability and live in peace in the midst of the diversity of hundreds of ethnic groups in the country.
"This is what makes Indonesia now enjoy a peaceful condition. We can live side by side with hundreds of ethnic groups but we can be peaceful," added Prabowo.
