Swiss Open 2026: Bobby/Melati Withdraw

JAKARTA - Indonesia is confirmed to have only 14 representatives at the 2026 BWF Super 300 Swiss Open which takes place this week after the mixed doubles Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti withdrew.

Bobby/Melati is the second Indonesian pair to withdraw from the tournament. PBSI had previously announced that the women's doubles Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine were absent due to injury.

"Indonesia is also confirmed not to be strengthened by Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti. They decided to withdraw (from the tournament) for technical reasons," wrote PBSI in their official statement received by the media on Monday, March 9, 2026.

The decision made by Bobby/Melati made Indonesia's mixed doubles Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Bernadine Anindya Wardana.

The badminton squad for Switzerland arrived on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in the afternoon local time. They then had a morning training yesterday in Swiss time with a focus on the training ground and some more in the fitness room to restore conditions and maintain power.

Pelatnas PBSI physical coach, Ahmad Jaelani, said that the program focuses more on power maintenance because for the men's doubles and women's doubles teams will fight directly on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, so it needs to be prepared as well as possible.

"The load is also not much, there are only six posts with a repetition of 10 multiplied by two sets. After that, they do their own needs which are usually done. All of this is done after mobility, activation, and jogging," he said.

As for the pair of Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, the Swiss Open 2026 is the third consecutive tournament, after previously falling in the German Open and All England 2026, so training like this is very important to keep performance at maximum.

"Training in a gym like this is quite important for us because to maintain power, especially yesterday we had a rest because of the journey from England to here and tomorrow we will play," said Pratiwi.

Several other names who previously dropped out of the 2026 All England and appeared in Switzerland were Alwi Farhan, Raymond Indra/Nikolau Joaquin, Putri Kusuma Wardani, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, and Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat.
