Irwasda Polda Kaltara Check 590 Firearms from Six Units

TANJUNG SELOR - The Regional Inspector (Irwasda) of the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara), Kombes Pol. Audy Alfrits Herman Manus, led the examination of hundreds of firearms (senpi) belonging to personnel from six work units (satker) in the environment of the Kaltara Police in front of the Logistics Building.

"A total of 590 senpi from six units were thoroughly checked. The units include the Narcotics Investigation Directorate, the Samapta Directorate, the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, the Traffic Directorate, the General Criminal Investigation Directorate, and the Logistics Unit," said Kombes Audy, accompanied by the Head of Propam Polda Kaltara Kombes Krishadi Permadi and Karologistik Kombes Herman Priyanto, Monday, March 9.

This inspection is part of the internal oversight function to ensure that all firearms used by personnel are in good condition and in accordance with operational standards.

"We are conducting this check to ensure that all firearms owned by the Kaltara Police are in good condition and in accordance with the applicable operational standards," explained Kombes Audy.

He emphasized that supervision of firearms is very important to maintain the professionalism of personnel and prevent potential misuse in carrying out tasks in the field.

"Every personnel who holds a firearm must understand his responsibility. Weapons must be properly maintained and used professionally in accordance with applicable rules," said Audy.

"In addition to checking the physical condition of the weapon, the check also includes the completeness of the administration and the suitability of the data of the weapon holder with the records of each work unit," he continued.

He added that firearms checks would continue to be carried out periodically as part of the Kaltara Police's efforts to maintain the safety of weapons use while improving the discipline of personnel in carrying out police duties.

"We want to ensure that every personnel who holds a firearm understands their responsibilities. Weapons must be properly maintained and used professionally according to the rules," he said.
