Prabowo: State Comes to Villages through Bridge Development
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the construction of hundreds of bridges in various regions is proof of the presence of the state down to the smallest level in society.
Prabowo said the construction of the bridge was the result of the hard work of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, especially the Bridge Task Force, which was tasked with accelerating the construction of connecting infrastructure in various regions.
"This is proof once again that the central government, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia is present," said Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 9.
The President explained that the government specifically formed the task force and assigned the Chief of Staff of the Army, General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, to directly lead the construction of bridges in various areas.
According to Prabowo, a four-star general directly leads the construction of bridges, both large-scale and small bridges in villages.
Prabowo emphasized that the government would not allow the community to face difficulties without the presence of the state.
The President assessed that infrastructure development such as bridges is an important part to ensure that people's access is maintained.
"The Government of the Republic of Indonesia will not let its people suffer and in difficulty," said Prabowo.
The President has just inaugurated 218 bridges built in various areas, including in disaster areas such as Aceh, and praised the rapid work of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) in completing their construction.
Prabowo said the inauguration included 77 Bailey bridges, 59 Armco bridges, and 82 pioneer bridges that were built in about 2.5 months.
"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, Monday, March 9, 2026, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurates 77 Bailey Bridges, 59 Armco Bridges, and 82 Pioneer Bridges," said Prabowo as quoted in a live broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat, Monday afternoon.
The President said the completion of hundreds of bridges showed the seriousness of TNI soldiers and officers in the area in helping people affected by disasters and areas that need access to connectivity.
