2 Australian WN Killers of Aussie White in Bali Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison
DENPASAR - The Denpasar District Court sentenced two foreign nationals, Australian Mevlut Coskun (22) and Paea Imiddlemore Tupou (26), to 16 years in prison for being found guilty of murdering an Australian citizen.
The verdict against the two defendants was read by the Wayan Suarta Panel of Judges at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, Monday, March 9.
The judge considered that the defendants were proven to be legally and convincingly guilty of premeditated murder as provided for and threatened with criminal penalties in violation of Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
In addition, they were found to have violated Article 456 of the Criminal Code of 2023; Article 306 of the Criminal Code of 2023; and Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code; and Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code as stated in the cumulative indictment of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) from the Badung District Attorney's Office.
"To judge and sentence the defendants Mevlut Coskun and Paea Imiddlemore Tupou to 16 years in prison each," said the judge as reported by ANTARA.
The sentence is two years lower than the demand of the Public Prosecutor of the Badung District Prosecutor's Office which demanded the two defendants to be imprisoned for 18 years.
According to the judge's assessment, the defendants and Darcy Francesco Jenson (separate case file) have planned systematically.
The judge assessed that the defendants carried out the shooting which resulted in the death of the victim Zivan Radmanovic and the victim's witness Sanar Ghanim was injured.
The judge set the period of arrest and detention that the defendants had served to be reduced entirely from the length of the sentence imposed.
In the hearing attended by the victim's relatives, the judge said there was an anonymous figure who financed the tickets, villa rental, weapons and orders to shoot the victim. The existence of the anonymous figure has not been revealed until now.
However, according to the judge, it can be ascertained that the anonymous figure who planned the murder of the victim Sanar Ghanim.
Against this decision, the defendants were given seven days to appeal or accept the decision.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, the defendant Darcy Francesco Jenson was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
The judge considered Darcy Francesco Jensen to have proven to have helped the other two defendants to prepare accommodation, pick-up, and transportation.
Previously, a brutal shooting case allegedly carried out by Australian gangsters shook the public in the Banjar Sedahan area, Munggu Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, Bali, Saturday (14/6/2025) early morning.
In the incident, one person died on behalf of Zivan Radmanovic and one victim was injured, namely Sanar Ghanim.
The shooting was witnessed by GJ, the wife of the victim ZR, and Daniela, the wife of Sanar.
ZR was shot inside the toilet of the bathroom, while Sanar was shot inside the room.
