TNI AL Strengthen Jakarta Sea Security After the Declaration of Alert 1

JAKARTA - The Commander of the Regional Navy Command (Dankodaeral) III, Rear Admiral TNI Uki Prasetia, said that his party would strengthen security in the Jakarta waters in accordance with the 1 alert order from the TNI commander through a telegram that circulated some time ago.

"The escalation at sea will clearly be carried out by thickening (security) in certain places, certain sectors that we have prioritized, namely national vital objects," said Uki as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 9.

Uki explained that the additional security was not only to anticipate the impact of the conflict in the Middle East, but also to maintain the flow of passenger ship traffic during the homecoming flow during Lebaran.

"We are implementing it to thicken each point, especially yesterday there was also a request from PT Pelindo and PT Pelni to thicken, especially in ports and certain places," said Uki.

When asked how many ships or personnel would be deployed to guard the Jakarta sea, Uki did not explain in detail.

Previously, information circulated among the public about the Telegram of the TNI Commander with the Number TR/283/2026.

The telegram contains standby instructions 1 to all ranks of the TNI to anticipate the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, there are seven points of instructions contained in the telegram.

One of the points is that the Commander of the Supreme Command for Operations (Pangkotamaops) of the TNI will alert personnel and equipment in its ranks and carry out patrols at strategic vital objects (obvit) and economic centers. This includes airports, sea/river ports, train stations, and bus terminals, as well as PLN offices.

Responding to the circulation of the telegram, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the TNI Headquarters, Brigadier General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, told ANTARA, Saturday (7/3), that the TNI has the main task of protecting the country and the community from foreign threats.

"The TNI is tasked to be professional and responsive, which is realized by always maintaining the ability and strength so that it is always operational, and ready to anticipate developments in the international, regional, and national strategic environments," said Aulia in response to confirmation of TNI alert 1.
