Gas Station and Lalin Paralyzed by Flood on Outer Ring Road Cengkareng
JAKARTA - The flood that is still flooding Jalan Outer Ring Road Cengkareng has paralyzed the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) and traffic at the location until Monday afternoon.
The flood submerged areas along the Duri Kosambi intersection to the roundabout area under the Taman Semanan Indah flyover.
As a result, motorists can only pass through the two right lanes. Traffic jams are inevitable along the road.
Seen on the edge of the puddle, the motorcyclists stopped and warned against breaking through the flood because they were afraid their motorbikes would break down when they passed.
Some of them were determined to break through, until some of them ended up striking because of the water that entered the engine.
Pertamina gas stations on the side of the road were also seen paralyzed and not operating due to being submerged in the flood. The black gas station fence was tightly closed with padlocks and chains in front.
In addition, the flood also submerged the area of the roundabout towards Kembangan under the Taman Semanan Indah flyover.
One of the traders around the location, Rizal admitted that the flood had submerged the outer ring area of Jakarta since Sunday (8/3).
"Yesterday it was up to half a meter (50 cm), the motor was on strike for everyone who passed by here. Now, thank God, it has started to recede, it can be passed," said Rizal at the location, Monday, March 9, reported by ANTARA.
He said that the flooding on the Outer Ring Road of Jakarta occurred due to the overflow of the river and the water reservoir located under the toll road.
Heavy rain made the water discharge in the water storage area no longer contained until overflowing onto the road.
As a result, severe traffic jams are inevitable and hinder business activities around the flood site, including Rizal's food stall.
"It was quiet from yesterday, it was hard to buy because of the flood," said Rizal.
Rizal hopes that the government will immediately fix the water channel system to deal with the flooding that has begun to frequently inundate the West Jakarta area in recent days.
