Commander of the Kimbusa Kompi Kodap XVI KKB Arrested in Dekai Papua

JAKARTA - The Cartenz 2026 Peace Operations Task Force arrested KKB member Philip Kobak alias Nenak Kobak, who served as the Commander of the Kimbusa Kodap XVI Yahukimo Company.

The arrest was carried out by the Gakkum Task Force team on Saturday (7/3) at around 16.44 WIT around the GIDI Kali Brasa Church, Dekai, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

Head of Public Relations and Peace Operations, Inspector General of Police Yusuf Sutejo, said the arrest of KKB member Philip Kobak was carried out after members carried out monitoring and pursued and carried out a search at the location.

The arrest began with the scanning process of the target carried out by the Gakkum Task Force team at around 15.30 WIT and 16.15 WIT, the target was detected at the intersection of Jalan Jhon Banua, Dekai.

The team then carried out a pursuit towards the Kali Brasa Church area and when they knew the presence of the police, the suspect immediately fled into the forest, but was arrested.

Then on Sunday (8/3) the team continued the investigation by searching the suspect's house and several houses suspected of being a stopover for armed criminal groups in the Yahukimo area.

From the search at the suspect's house located on Jalan Gunung, Tomon 2 Village, Dekai, the team found a number of evidence, in the form of four 5.56 mm caliber ammunition, two 9 mm caliber ammunition, pointed iron, bags and noken, personal documents belonging to the suspect, bows and 31 arrows, 4 machetes, 3 axes, 1 sling, 2 kitchen knives, 1 projectile caliber 5.56 mm, and 45 ammunition shells caliber 7.62 mm and 5.56 mm.

Philip Kobak alias Nenak Kobak who served as the Operation Commander of the Kimbusa Kompi Kodap XVI Yahukimo, played a role and was involved in a number of violent acts, including the stabbing of Muhammad Syarif on January 11, 2026 and the burning of SMK Negeri 2 Dekai on February 14.

"Investigators are still conducting an in-depth investigation to determine the suspect's involvement in a number of other events," said Kombes Yusuf.
