Joining the Board of Peace, Indonesia is judged not to be trapped in Trump's political game

JAKARTA - Indonesia must not be trapped by US President Donald Trump's political games in his involvement in the Board of Peace (BoP).

"We consider that in signing the BoP Charter, the Indonesian government is in Donald Trump's political style," said the Chairman of the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) DKI Jakarta Dendy Deodatus Se in a written statement, Sunday, March 8.

Dendy said that their concerns about Indonesia's involvement in the BoP had been voiced in a peaceful action at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Dendy explained, the BoP formed in Davos and chaired by Donald Trump is not the BoP as mandated in UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803.

In the BoP in Davos, he continued, there was not a single word for Palestine. This is different from Resolution 2803 which specifically deals with the Palestinian problem.

"In the BoP in Davos, the control and reporting of BoP activities are directed to Donald Trump as chairman. Meanwhile, in UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the control and reporting of BoP are directed to the UN Security Council," he said.

He assessed that the US-Israeli attack on Iran had violated international law, including the UN Charter, and undermined world peace.

"Thus, the Board of Peace has changed into the Board of War because the BoP headed and dominated by Donald Trump has carried out a military attack on Iran," he said.
