Jakpro admits to having a technical meeting with the BTS concert promoter, to be held at JIS?
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo Iwan Takwin revealed that his party had held a meeting with the promoter of the BTS K-pop group concert, which is planned to be held at the end of this year.
So far, the promoter has not announced the venue of the concert. Iwan said that Jakpro as the manager of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) had held a technical discussion meeting regarding the potential use of JIS as a BTS concert venue.
"Actually, the EO or promoter of the BTS concert organizer has met with us several times, with the JIS team both technically and how the procedure is," Iwan told reporters, Sunday, March 8.
Iwan explained, BTS management has also requested various technical data of the stadium to assess the readiness of JIS as a concert venue. The request is related to the stage concept which is planned to be brought in their concert tour.
Iwan explained that the concert designed by BTS will later be called a stage with a new concept that has never been used before in their tour.
"So they will present a completely new stage in their concert world and of course the burden will be heavy," he said.
Therefore, the BTS management pays special attention to the strength of the stadium structure, especially in the field or infield area which will be the main location of the concert stage.
"This is what needs a more solid structure and this is finally what they are really concerned about the construction of the venue itself, especially in the infield," said Iwan.
He ensured that all the technical data requested had been submitted to the BTS management, ranging from construction details to other technical requirements such as lighting.
However, the final decision regarding the location of the concert in Jakarta has not been determined. Iwan said BTS management would convey the results of their evaluation after April.
"The information after April will be informed of what the decision is like. So they are also observing what the enthusiasm is like in Jakarta," said Iwan.
Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung tried to make the K-pop idol group Bangtan Sonyeondan or now known as BTS be able to hold a concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in December.
"I specifically ask the CEO of JIS to be able to pursue BTS on December 26-27, 2026 in Jakarta if they can play at JIS, it will be very good," said Pramono in the Ancol area, Jakarta, Sunday, January 25.
According to him, transportation services to the JIS area have improved, both the Commuter Line and Transjakarta trains. Meanwhile, for parking vehicles, the public can use the area in Ancol.
"People will easily come to JIS because there is a KRL, there is Transjakarta, so this area can really become a promising area later," said Pramono.
Currently, the pedestrian bridge (JPO) connecting JIS and Ancol is being built, and is targeted to be used in June 2026.
On that occasion, he also asked Jakpro to continue to strive to increase activities or activities at JIS, both for music concerts and other activities.
"I have asked the director of Ancol and the director of JIS to increase activities at this place. In addition to sports facilities, of course, if there are big concerts, whether it's Bon Jovi and Coldplay," said Pramono.
