Lippo Donates 30 Acres of Land, Government Ready to Build 140,000 Units of Rusun

JAKARTA - The government has prepared land measuring approximately 30 hectares for residential construction for the community in order to accelerate the realization of the 3 million house construction program.

The land is a grant from the Lippo Group and is estimated to have a development capacity of up to around 140,000 units of apartments.

Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait, explained that the estimated number of units was the result of a calculation by the government team carried out together with the developer partner.

He said that with an area of about 30 hectares, the vertical housing development can accommodate hundreds of thousands of housing units.

"This 30 hectares is extraordinary from the vision of the Danantara team, Mr. James, and our team can produce approximately 140 thousand units (housing)," he said at the Presidential Priority Program Support 3 Million Houses in Cikarang, on Sunday, March 8.

According to Maruarar, the construction of vertical houses is one of the strategic steps to overcome land constraints in urban areas, as well as reduce the housing needs gap or backlog.

He also emphasized that the development project involved various stakeholders, including the government, investors, and state-owned enterprises through various funding schemes.

Maruarar explained that the provision of land for the people's housing program can come from various sources, both from state assets, business entities, and private parties who are willing to cooperate in housing development.

"There is state land, there is land and land, there is private land. Then it can be financed from the middle, it can be financed later from the state budget, there is also financing from the private sector," he said.

He also reported that the legal status of the housing land had been confirmed through coordination with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the land was handed over to the state as a grant for the construction of terraced houses.
