DKI Prosecutor Investigates Alleged Corruption in the Construction of the Cipta Karya Building, Here is the Minister's Response PU

JAKARTA - The investigation into the alleged corruption in the construction of the Cipta Karya building at the Ministry of Public Works (PU) is being carried out by the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.

This case emerged amid the resignation of two directors general (dirjen) at the ministry, as well as allegations of serious violations, including alleged immorality within the ministry.

The Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Attorney's Office, Dapot Dariarma, confirmed that he was investigating a corruption case related to the construction of the Ministry of PU's creative work building. Currently, the case is still in the investigation stage.

"It was handled by the Pidsus," he told the media crew.

However, he has not been able to explain in detail the case of the construction of the pendopo building. It is known that the building is located in the complex of the PU Ministry building.

Meanwhile, when confirmed, Minister PU Dody Hanggodo did not provide detailed information regarding the investigation conducted by the DKI Prosecutor's Office.

He is not in a position to announce the legal process.

"I am not in a position to announce it. Later I will be obstructed of justice. So for that, I apologize for not daring to answer," said Dody.

According to Dody, the examination of the two officials has been carried out by the Inspector General of the Ministry of PU for quite some time.

However, at the initial stage of the examination, the two chose to resign from their positions.

"There are indeed violations, and the violations are various. They lead to serious violations. It can be gratification, it can be infidelity, it can be various," said Dody when asked for information.

He explained that the decision to resign was made before the ministry imposed further sanctions such as dismissal or dishonorable dismissal, which must be submitted to the President.

"At the first examination, they chose to resign rather than I be free to assign or dismissed with disrespect to the President," he said.

However, Dody was reluctant to reveal the details of the violations that occurred.

According to him, all findings have been detailed by the Inspector General and reported to the President.

Dody said that the report on the case had been submitted to Prabowo Subianto before it was forwarded to law enforcement officials.

"The process has been long, we have reported it to the President. After getting the green light, we will only convey it to the prosecutor's office," he concluded.
