Kalashnikov Develops KUB-10ME, Kamikaze Drone with Range of up to 100 Kilometers
JAKARTA - Russian arms manufacturer Kalashnikov Group has developed the first tactical kamikaze drone with a range of more than 100 km, the company said in a statement.
"The Kalashnikov Group was the first in Russia to develop the Kub-10ME guided tactical ammunition system with a range of more than 100 km," the statement read to TASS as quoted on Thursday (5/3).
"This system was made in a short time based on the experience of actively placing guided ammunition in special military operation zones," he added.
The company further noted that the main features of this new ammunition include an electro-optical guidance system that allows it to attack moving targets, as well as improved protection against electronic warfare and air defense systems.
In addition, it is equipped with an aerial photography and video imaging system that records data inside the aircraft.
This kamikaze drone is designed for precision targeting against unarmored and lightly armored military vehicles, command posts, air defense facilities, and other targets.
Quoted from the Kalashnikov website, this drone is named KUB-10ME, developed based on the experience of guided ammunition in special military operations (Ukrainian war).
The KUB-10ME is capable of flying at altitudes ranging from 80 meters to 1,800 meters. This kamikaze drone travels at speeds of up to 120 km/h, day or night, in any weather conditions, including gusts of wind of up to 10 m/s, and operates reliably at temperatures from -30°C to +40°C.
