Allegedly Using a Fake Letter and Spreading Hoaxes on Seizures, the KPK Reported Linda Susanti to the Police

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially reported Linda Susanti who was a witness to the bribery case for handling cases and money laundering (TPPU) of the former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Hasbi Hasan.

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that this report was made about a month ago to the Polda Metro Jaya. Suspiciously, Linda had forged a letter of seizure of assets worth Rp700 billion.

"What we reported was related to the use of a fake or forged letter by sister Linda or whoever was together with the person concerned," Asep told VOI, Saturday, March 7.

Asep said that this report was made with the approval of the KPK leadership. Because, Linda was considered to have spread incorrect information based on the letter on a number of media platforms and social media, one of which was TikTok.

Then, Linda also used the letter to make a number of reports to the KPK Supervisory Board and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. In this letter, based on Linda's confession some time ago, the KPK seized assets worth Rp700 billion in the form of gold, money with Singapore dollar denominations, land certificates, important documents.

"So if this is left unchecked, it will certainly damage the credibility of the KPK institution, then also damage the credibility of each of the personnel mentioned. Because what Linda said was partly not in line with reality or not true," he continued.

In the future, the KPK hopes that the legal process underway at the Metro Jaya Police can provide clarity to the public.

"Later the legal process will prove that what was conveyed by sister Linda can be cross-checked for its truth with the evidence we have," said Asep, who also served as the KPK's Director of Investigation.

"Hopefully with this report, as well as the handling of what we reported at the Metro Jaya Police, we can provide clarity to the public," he concluded.
